Your coach and trainer
I was born as a particularly happy child, but of course, without any clue what life had in store for me. As far as I remember, I loved everything and everyone. However, I wouldn’t really talk to anybody outside my family (obviously, that would change later). No matter how happy I was on the inside, I always felt I did not belong to the world around me. As a six-year-old, I was lying in bed, thinking about God and whether I would want to be a nun. I think I would have been a very content and happy nun. As a ten-year-old, I was entirely thrilled by the discovery that the universe and the makeup of atoms are so similar, and I thought I would want to be a scientist – which later came true.
In my mid-thirties, a traumatic event occurred that would turn my life upside down. What followed was a ten-year period in which I first struggled with and later healed myself from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including general anxiety disorder, panic attacks, hypochondriacal disorder, cardiac phobia, and depression. For almost ten years, I was suffering from fear of death almost every waking second. Finally, after years of agony, I understood. And I managed to heal myself without any medical treatment. Today, I am even happier than I was as a child.
Without extraordinary resilience, I would not have been able to overcome my extremely pronounced anxiety disorder. PTSD needs to be treated by specialists, and I would never accept a client with PTSD – but in my case, it was different because, at that time (2001 – not that far back), I could not find a single therapist dealing with PTSD. Somehow I had to find a way out of all that by myself. To heal, I first had to accept – without fear – how I was feeling. I had to take full responsibility for my problems and I knew I had to trust in myself and my healing. In the process, I have learnt a lot about self-empowerment, and resilience.
Life led me to meet very interesting people and to have many different careers. Once, I worked as a branch manager at a bank, then as a language teacher in Oxford, and later as a professor at the university. I truly loved my life at the university. Nevertheless, I had to follow a different path. My love for herbs, monastery medicine, and healing needed to be expressed. So I founded a factory for organic herbal teas. All teas were produced by myself, based on my own recipes. And the teas were really delicious, and they worked really well. So well that I almost got into trouble (only doctors and pharmacists are allowed to create and mix medical infusions – at least in Germany).
It didn’t stop with the herbs, though. I started attending seminars and workshops, reading hundreds of books, getting certified as a herbalist, as a coach, and in different healing methods. Over time, I have studied so much ancient knowledge and so many different ways of healing that today I am sure that the stories and approaches may differ, but the source of healing is the same.
Learning and teaching are like a golden thread in my life. I have been teaching and giving seminars for over twenty-five years. Seminars do have their merits. Individual coaching, however, allows for a deeper understanding, more targeted guidance, and a highly customised coaching process.
I look forward to getting to know you, helping you with what I have learned, and learning from you.
I don’t think that certificates matter. The following list only serves the purpose of reflecting the diversity of my approach and the high level of individuality of the consultations that go along with it.
